“How much is dry cleaning?” doesn’t have one answer, because a shirt, a suit, and a wedding gown don’t cost the same to clean, and they shouldn’t. What’s harder to find is a straightforward breakdown of what different services actually cost and why, instead of a price list that only makes sense once you’re already at the counter.
What our services actually start at
- Dry cleaning starts from $8, for everyday garments like shirts, trousers, and simple dresses.
- Wash & fold starts from $3, priced for volume rather than individual garments.
- Alterations start from $17, for straightforward hemming and simple repairs.
- Shoe cleaning starts from $35, covering everyday footwear through leather and suede.
- Carpet cleaning starts from $35, for area rugs and standard room sizes.
- Wedding dress cleaning starts from $200, reflecting the hand inspection and fabric-specific handling a gown needs.
- Commercial laundry is quote-based, since pricing depends on volume and pickup frequency.
What actually moves the price up
Starting prices assume a standard garment in normal condition. A few things push a quote higher: delicate fabrics like silk or cashmere that need gentler handling, heavy staining that needs extra pre-treatment, beading or embellishment that has to be worked around by hand, and rush turnaround if you need something back faster than our standard timeline.
None of that should be a surprise at pickup. We’ll flag anything that changes the price before we start the work, not after.
Why prices vary between Toronto dry cleaners
Independent cleaners and large chains price differently because they’re not always doing the same thing. A lower price can mean a faster, more automated process; a higher one can mean hand-finishing and individual attention that a bulk process skips. Neither is automatically the better choice, it depends on what you’re bringing in and how much that particular garment is worth protecting.
No hidden fees
The one add-on worth knowing about upfront is pickup and delivery: it’s $10 each way, waived on orders of $100 or more. Beyond that, what we quote is what you pay. Full pricing details are on our Pricing page, and you can always ask before you commit to anything.
